Addressing the questions which have emerged from the Sudanese Civil War
About the Committee
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the primary body responsible for maintaining international peace and security under the UN Charter. UNSC has the authority to adopt binding resolutions, impose sanctions, authorize peacekeeping missions, and take necessary actions to address threats to global stability. This committee will be focusing on the civil war in Sudan, an intense power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) which began in April 2023. By 2026, the conflict had resulted in the largest displacement crisis in the world, with over 14 million people forced to flee their homes. Beyond the battles on the front lines, the war has triggered a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, resulting in widespread famine and the collapse of the healthcare system. The majority of the population is now depending on limited international aid. Our delegates will hold discussions, negotiate strategies, and develop effective solutions to establish regional and international peace.
